“Beautiful clarity of fruit with raspberries and currants on the nose. Roses and other flowers too. It’s almost hard to describe, but there’s a real purity. Full body, with fabulous balance and depth. It has everything in the right place. Best ever? Try it in 2018” – 98 points – James Suckling
“The 2010 Rauzan-Ségla has a wonderful bouquet, very pure and engaging with wild strawberry, blackberry, rose petals and boysenberry jam. It just feels very focused and beautifully delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with lively red and black fruit laced with cracked black pepper and cedar. It is extremely balanced, almost symmetrical, with a precise and persistent finish. Bon vin. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.” – 95 pts – Neal Martin – Vinous
“A cold, wet spring was followed by a lovely summer and autumn, with hot days and cool nights – perfect for developing the deep, rich colour and aromatic range that’s evident here. What a beautiful wine! It has power and elegance, an incredible dense and feathered texture with silky tannins, and the confidence to simply settle into itself. As the glass unfurls you get liquorice, heavy smoke notes, pencil lead and cassis. It’s still young and has decades ahead of it. Harvest ran from 23 September to 12 October, giving a yield of 37hl/ha. 60% new oak. 3.52pH.” – 96 pts – Jane Anson – Decanter
