YELLAND AND PAPPS – BAROSSA

Yelland and Papps has been a 5 star winery for the last 6 years, One of Ten Best New Wineries by James Halliday and recent winner of Best Small Cellar Door 2013 by Gourmet Traveller

Producer Profile – The Story

RAISON D’ETRE – Old vine whole bunch Grenache, Unfiltered Roussanne, Greenock Shiraz

PROUDLY 1ST GENERATION – Usually Barossa estates introduce themselves as some as the oldest winemakers in Australia. Not so with Susan and Michael. They are definitely first generation owners, setting out to simply work with established vineyards and growers and make soulful wines keeping sustainability at the core of all their processes.

NOT ANOTHER SHIRAZ – Yelland & Papps, despite their high scoring Shiraz’s actually look to other varieties as their raison d’etre. Grenache, Vermentino and Roussanne all feature in their line-up and have received rave reviews from critics and wine drinkers alike. I loved that they see Chateau Rayas as their benchmark.
