Yelland And Papps

— About —

For Susan and Michael Papps dreams were turned to reality in 2005 with their first vintage of Yelland and Papps. From these humble beginnings using contract wine making facilities, they were able to expand in 2010, with the acquisition of the Nuraip Road vineyard and winery. This has taken Yelland and Papps to the next level, with quality control at the forefront, in the creation of their soulful, purely fruited, minimal intervention wines from the Barossa.

The relationships with longstanding Barossan wine growing families with a reputation for the highest quality, old vine fruit, formed the foundation of Yelland and Papps. These grower’s vineyards are specific to site and varietal.

In the winery is all about guiding these beautifully farmed grapes to the bottle with the least amount of intervention, accurately representing each individual growing season, the subtleties of the land on which the grapes were grown and capturing the inherent characteristics of the grapes.

The winemaking is all about wild yeasts, whole bunch fermentation, older, large-format oak barrels and no fining or filtration (vegan friendly). Skin-contact is used in a selection of the white and reds, building texture and complexity.
