Pieve Santa Restituta in located in the Tavernelle region of Montalcino, Tuscany and the estate showcases Gaja’s commitment to excellence in Sangiovese-based wines. Acquired by Gaja in 1994 it was the family’s first expansion outside the area of Barbaresco and Barolo. Named after it’s church situated in the middle of the estate, it is one of the four remaining churches still standing in Italy whose foundations date back to 400AD.
They produce three wines from the estate. A straight Brunello di Montalcino and two single expressions, Rennina and Sugarille. Rennina is in fact a blend of 3 vineyards with a similar terrior where as Sugarille is from one named vineyard.
