CA’ MONTINI PINOT GRIGIO 2021
Bottle Shot

The Ca’Montini Pinot Grigio is sourced from a single vineyard called “Terre di Valfredda”, (meaning cold valley) in Ala, Trentino. The traditional pergola trellising system is used in the vineyard, densely planted to 3500 vines per ha and was planted in 1998. This traditional trellising system is used predominantly with white grapes to protect the grapes from too much sun and possible sunburn and promote airflow through the canopy to prevent disease pressure and create a cooling effect.

Once the fruit arrives in the winery all bunches are hand sorted, chilled down and gently whole bunch pressed to tank. All juice is fermented using indigenous yeast in stainless steel tank and does not go through malolactic fermentation to retain freshness and purity of fruit.

On the nose beautiful aroma’s of white peach, green pear, a hint of quartz and some peel citrus peel on the nose.

On the palate a fresh crunchy acidity with lovely white peach notes, green pear and peach blossoms. The sense saline minerality lingers on the pallet and provokes interest. There is a lovely mid palate weight, that balances out the crisp acidity and the saltiness. It has a great persistency overall, in one word a beautiful handcrafted pinot grigio with layers of complexity.
