Stargazer Chardonnay 2024

In our view, this could be Samantha Connew’s best Chardonnay yet. The 2024 vintage, following three cooler La Niña years, has given a wine that is already singing with balance and generosity. Fruit is sourced from the Coal River Valley, the Upper Derwent Valley and Richmond. A standout release with immediate charm and great cellaring potential.

“Pale straw in colour, on the nose it is all bright fresh lemon peel and ripe white peaches. Custard pastry and cashew nuts with a subtle flinty layer add a secondary note under the primary fruit. The generous stonefruit upfront on the palate is framed by judicious use of oak, with long flavours of almonds and honeycomb finishing with a pink sea salt briny drive.” – Samantha Connew, owner & winemaker
