Neldner Road Loechel Eden Valley Shiraz 2021

From the western section of a single east-facing vineyard in the Eden Valley, off vines over 60 years old grown on dark schists over clay. Fermented in open-top concrete vats, basket pressed, then 18 months in French oak barrique with 50% new. Bottled without fining or filtration.

Generous dark fruits of blackberry, cherry liqueur and cassis, with dark chocolate, mocha and subtle herb and spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with smoky, savoury depth, an inky texture and a long finish with a persistent orange rind acidity.
