Hurley Vineyard ‘Hommage’ Pinot Noir 2024
$90.00
From a small north-east facing plot of just 0.8 hectares planted in 1998 and 1999, Hommage carries a name that honours its origins. The vineyard was made possible by cuttings of the G5V15 clone generously offered by Main Ridge Estate, one of the founding estates of Mornington Peninsula. Ninety-five percent of the vineyard is planted to this single clone.
Whole berries, one hundred percent destemmed, cold soaked before natural yeast fermentation in open-top fermenters. Gravity fed to basket press, then aged in Sirugue barrels, twenty-five percent new, for approximately twenty months without racking.
“Distinctly ripe plums and the forest floor… wine gums and jubes… soft, squishy berries like mulberries and firmer ones like blueberries… full and supple in the palate, but not loose… often described as Burgundian.” – Kevin Bell, Owner
