Henri & Gilles Buisson Bourgogne Blanc 2021
$114.00
“Coming from the blending of plots on the heights of Saint-Romain, the downgrading of the Appellation Village of the Cote de Beaune and the purchase of grapes from another certified organic farming estate. Our Bourgogne Blanc combines freshness and minerality, finesse and depth.” – Franck Buisson.
40% of the blend is sourced from their own Saint-Romain vineyards with the remaining fruit coming from their good friend, the organic Macon producer Emmanuel Guillot-Broux, plus some additional Bourgogne Blanc. The aim is to balance the limestone-driven acidity of Saint-Romain with the roundness and warmth of Macon fruit. Labelled as Maison rather than Domaine Buisson, as it is not wholly estate fruit.
Parcels were made separately than blended pre-bottling. 50% is matured in old oak and 50% in stainless steel.
“A blend made up of 10% Bourgogne Blanc, 40% declassified St Romain, 50% from the Mâconnais. Fullish yellow, quite exuberant, a bit of flesh, some sunshine then tightens up with excellent acidity, some citrus, very long. Extremely delicious. Drink from 2024-2026..” – 87-89 Points, Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy)
