Francois Lumpp Givry Rouge 1er Cru A Vignes Rouge 2023

The largest Premier Cru holding of François Lumpp, À Vigne Rouge spans 2.45 hectares planted between 1982 and 2008. The vineyard sits at around 255 metres elevation on clay-limestone soils rich in iron oxide, bringing both depth and mineral tension to the wine. With varied exposures from south to south-east and south-west, the site consistently delivers one of the domaine’s most complete and structured expressions of Givry.

The fruit is fully destemmed and fermented in tank, before ageing for 12 months in French oak (around 70% new) followed by a short resting period in tank prior to bottling.

The 2023 shows spiced plum, black cherry and subtle earthy notes, supported by fine-grained tannins and a beautifully detailed palate. Focused, balanced and impressively long, this is a Premier Cru Burgundy that combines elegance with depth.
