Fletcher Cantina della Stazione Langhe Favorita 2024
$58.00
A rare and quietly compelling white from the Langhe, made from Favorita, a historic local variety closely related to Vermentino and now increasingly scarce. Sourced from a north-facing vineyard in San Rocco, the vines are around 60 years old, part of a mixed old planting that has been carefully preserved rather than replanted.
Whole-bunch pressed and fermented in old oak, the wine is aged on lees for nine months to build texture while retaining freshness. The 2024 shows citrus, white stone fruit and subtle herbal notes, with a gently rounded palate lifted by a fine, energetic line of acidity. Balanced, expressive and quietly distinctive, it’s a beautiful example of this lesser-known Piedmont variety.
