Eleni & Edouard Vocoret Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot 2023
$367.00
“From three steep parcels totalling 0.53 hectares, all planted in 1965, this Grand Cru represents one of the most distinctive expressions of Chablis. It is the only Grand Cru with an east/southeast exposition, flowing away from Les Clos and facing differently to its peers. The soils are a fine mix of grey-blue marl, giving this wine delicacy and mineral finesse. With vines now over 60 years old, the depth of fruit is striking.
Fermented with wild yeasts in steel and aged 12 months in seasoned barriques, the Blanchot is a wine of elegance and quiet power. Floral and citrus notes meet a stony, saline edge, finishing long and structured, making it a Grand Cru built to age gracefully.
“…aromas of white flowers, mineral reduction, lemon zest, quinine and oyster shell… precision and verve to the tension-filled medium weight flavors… beautifully long finale… youthfully austere… should improve for up to a decade.” – 91–94 points, Burghound
