Domaine Filliatreau Saumur Champigny Vieille Vignes Rouge 2017

In the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation, these 50 to 100 years old vines produce a wine with slow vinification. Length in the mouth and persistence for this aging wine with recognised typicaity.

Black fruits, earthy, leather, mushrooms will all emerge from this cuvee. Powerful and long finish, this is a wine that can be drunk young. This wine expresses perferctly after 3 or 4 years in bottle and can be forgotten in the cellar for 10 to 15 years.

The most old vines of the Domaine are 50 to 100 years old and are located around the small village of Chaintres and are all on clay-limestone soils.

The harvest is 100% manual and is fully sorted in the cellar. The grapes are destemmed and transported to stainless steel tanks. About 20 to 30 days of maceration between 24 and 28 degrees maximum to preserve the fruit while allowing the structure to be expressed.
