Clos Saouma Cotes du Rhone Villages Rouge INOPIA 2021
$95.00
Inopia is crafted from the finest fruit sourced from the winery’s own vineyards in Orange. This blend predominantly features Grenache Noir, with additions of Mourvedre, Syrah, Cinsault, and Counoise. The winemaking process begins with a week-long cold maceration using whole clusters, followed by a 10-day fermentation without any additives. The wine is then aged on full lees for 16 months in cement eggs, foudres, and 500-liter barrels, with no racking or added sulfur.
Renowned wine critic Andrew Jefford from Decanter highlights the exceptional value of Inopia, noting that it comes from the “Clos Saouma” vineyards in the Côtes du Rhône-Village of Vieuw Bouigard near Orange. The nine hectares of vineyards, planted in less expensive yet highly promising soil (clay over deep beds of river-rolled pebbles), produce wines of remarkable quality. The winery’s commitment to lees-nourished, unhurried winemaking principles ensures that Inopia delivers outstanding flavor and complexity.
Experience the exceptional quality and unique terroir of Inopia, a wine that truly stands out from the rest.
