Cantina Calcagno Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo 2020

From 70–90-year-old bush vines in the historic Feudo di Mezzo Contrada of Passopisciaro, this blend of Nerello Mascalese (90%) and Nerello Cappuccio comes from a small dagala — a lush island of vines surrounded by ancient lava flows.

Hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel before ageing for 12 months in large oak casks, this is an expressive and refined Etna red. Silky and savoury with layers of red cherry, herbs and smoky minerality, it captures both the power and grace of old-vine Etna fruit.
