Ca’Marcanda Vistamare Vermentino Toscana IGP 2023

The only white wine produced at Ca’Marcanda is a blend of predominantly 70% Vermentino blended with 20% Fiano & 10% Viognier. All varieties are vinified separately. The Vermentino is fermented in tank, Fiano in concrete & wood & lastly Viognier in Tonneau and larger oak. No malolactic. Elevage is for 6 months then blended and bottled.

The main portion of this wine is sourced from the Vistamare vineyard which was planted in 2005 outside the Bolgheri DOP in neighbouring Bibbona. Due to the huge demand for this wine the family planted additional vineyards specifically for Vistamare around the estate inside the Bolgheri AOP so in fact the wine is now a blend of the two sub-regions and as such classified as Toscana IGP.

The name Vistamare means ‘sea view’ as the site in Bibbona overlooks the Tyrrhenian coastline.
