Ca’Marcanda Promis Toscana IGP 2022

A blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah and 10% Sangiovese. The Promis is sourced from vineyards across Bolgheri and Bibbona with the majority in Bibbona on only dark soils rich in clay. The three varieties are fermented separately over 2 to 3 weeks. All varieties retain approximately 15-20% whole-bunch in the ferment and are then aged in a mixture of Tonneau and Barrique for 12 months. After which the parcels/varieties are blended together and aged in bottle a few months before release.

The name Promis, derived from the Italian word for promise is in reference to the Gaja family’s commitment to bringing and producing world class wines from the region.
