Brash Higgins Smart Vineyard Grenache 2022

From the heritage Smart Vineyard in Clarendon, planted in 1955, this single-parcel Grenache is drawn from one of South Australia’s true grand-cru sites. Hand-picked and wild-fermented with 50% whole bunches, it spent 20 months maturing in old 500L French puncheons.

The 2022 is perfumed and complex, showing rose petal, cherry, orange peel and spice. The palate is vibrant and medium-bodied, with layers of red fruit, liquorice root, cinnamon and ferrous minerality. Elegant yet grounded, it’s a beautifully expressive Grenache that speaks clearly of its cool, stony Clarendon origins.
