Brash Higgins CINS Cinsault 2024

$35.00

From a small block of Cinsault at Lennon Vineyard, originally grafted over from Semillon in 2013, this wine reflects Brash Higgins’s signature approach, thoughtful, textural and site-driven. Now in its eighth vintage, it continues to show the evolution of Cinsault in McLaren Vale.

The fruit is hand-selected and fermented wild in open fermenters with a good proportion of whole bunch, before being gently basket pressed and matured for 10 months in seasoned French puncheons. The 2024 season brought challenges early, with wind and rain during flowering, followed by a dry and even finish that allowed for balanced ripening.

The result is a bright, finely structured red, showing black cherry, blood orange zest, ginger and white pepper, with a medium-bodied, vibrant palate and a clean, refreshing finish. A beautifully expressive and drinkable style, equally suited to a slight chill.

“Ruby in hue… black cherry starburst with notes of blood orange zest, ginger, nutmeg and white pepper… bright cherry/red fruit notes… clean and refreshing.” – Brad Hickey, Winemaker
