Edouard and his now wife Eleni have Chablis running through their veins. Domaine Vocoret is a well established large estate which when entering Chablis town from the North is impossible to miss. Edouard and Eleni wanted to start their own Domaine and in 2013 purchased 5 hectares from their Father + Grandfather. Eleni has been working for some time for Vincent Dauvissat and he has kindly been mentoring them as they establish their Domaine.
Edouard was keen to tell me after working at his father’s Domaine for some years he had earmarked the spots he wanted, particularly the ‘Las Bas de Chapelot’ Lieu Dit. After some passionate meetings his father agreed to sell the plots he now makes, It was more how much we could buy than how much they could sell but with a new cellar on the plans we hope to be able to import more in 2017. This is seriously good white Burgundy, Chablis or otherwise.
“Complex, powerful and lively with ripe pear, peach and citrus fruit. Mineral and a bit smoky with high acidity. A lovely linear wine with real depth. Just a
faint hint of cabbage and a lovely stony edge. Simply brilliant” 94 points – Jamie Goode
“So aromatic, lively and perfumed with grapefruit, lemons and some spicy, rich pear and apple fruit. The palate is concentrated and shows richness and
freshness, with pear, grapefruit and minerals, as well as some tangerine. Textured and mouthfilling, this is just sensational” 95 points – Jamie Goode
