CHATEAU DE BELLEVERNE

Producer Profile – The Story

RAISON D’ETRE – GAMAY Master

Wine Beaujolais, France – The Beaujolais wine region is situated in east central France between the towns of Mâcon and Lyon and follows the river Saone below the town of Burgundy and above the town of Lyon. More specifically, the Beaujolais wine region is located north of the town of Lyon and covers parts of the northern Rhone department of Rhone-Alpes and the Saone-et-Loire department in Burgundy.  While the Beaujolais wine region is administratively considered part of the Burgundy wine region, the climate is closer to the characteristics of the Rhone wine region and the wine is unique enough to be considered separately from the Burgundy wine region or the Rhône wine region.

Francaboutwine Notes :

Château de Belleverne is a small, family business run out of an 18th century château. Château Belleverne’s vines grow on siliceous clay on gentle slopes. Specialists in Saint-Amour which is the most northerly cru.
