Boutinot had been making wine from these vineyards for some time when the opportunity arose to buy the vineyards from the previous owner. Now with some inspiring plots around Cairanne with some amazing old vines, some up to 50 years old they began completely upgrading the winery to try to create some of the best expressions of Cairanne and the neighbouring classified villages using traditional techniques. Open top ferment vats, basket press and a host of larger wood casks for elevage.

The energy in this Cairanne is appealing; the palate bears blueberry fruit with a cool 2014 angle. It is authentic and powerful and ends with a fresh, menthol grip. It drinks with gusto, and finishes on tingling fennel notes90 points – 90 points -Decanter
