Lucien Le Moine

Described by Antonio Galloni as producing “some of the most compelling wines being made in Burgundy,” Lucien Le Moine has, for over two decades, stood among the most sought-after names in the Côte d’Or.

Founded in 1999 by Mounir Saouma and his wife Rotem, Lucien Le Moine operates as a true micro-négociant. Their vision is singular: to create a living library of Burgundy’s greatest Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, every vintage. Working with tiny allocations, often just one to three barrels per site, they craft an extraordinary mosaic of over 50 crus in some years, spanning the most revered terroirs of the Côte d’Or.

Mounir’s approach, sometimes labelled modern, is rooted in tradition. Extended élevage on fine lees, no racking and minimal sulphur reflect historic Burgundian practice rather than innovation for its own sake. The result is wines of depth, texture and remarkable ageing potential.

Lucien Le Moine remains one of Burgundy’s most distinctive and collectible domaines, producing whites and reds of intensity, precision and profound terroir expression.
