GIVRY BLANC 2021
Bottle Shot

Due to the frost of the 2021 vintage the Domaine chose to blend several sites including two 1er Cru’s rather than offer very small parcels separately. As such this wine is a single white cuvee of Clos des Vignes Rondes, Teppes des Cheneves, 1er Cru Crausot and 1er Cru Petit Marole. Exactly the same winemaking for all of the parcels.

“A discreet application of wood is present on the vaguely exotic aromas of white peach with background hints of pineapple and lychee. The rich, dense and racy middleweight flavors are supported by citrus-tinged acidity on the stony and quinine-inflected finish. Interestingly, blind this could pass for a Chablis” – Outstanding Top Value – 89-91 points – Burghound

GIVRY 1ER CRU ROUGE ‘LE PIED DU CLOU’ 2021
Bottle Shot

Pied du Clou is a monopole owned by Francois Lumpp, located just behind the winery in the centre of the appellation. It came about after Francois began the process of the foundations of the winery and saw how superb the soil soil was. Planted in 2005. He applied to the INAO and was granted 1er Cru status in 2010. 0.65 of a hectare planted. Anne Cecile describes the soil as ‘pink limestone’.

“Ripe and very fresh aromas include those of plum, black cherry and a whiff of exotic tea. There is fine volume and punch to the lightly mineral-driven medium weight flavors that flash focused power on the sneaky long and youthfully austere finish. This has the potential to repay 7 to 10 years of keeping” – 90-92 points – Burghound

GIVRY 1ER CRU ROUGE 2021

Due to the frost of the 2021 vintage the Domaine chose to blend three 1er Cru’s together rather than offer very small parcels separately. As a consequence this wine is a blend of 1er Clos du Cras Long, 1er Cru Crausot and 1er Cru Petit Marole.

“Moderate wood frames ripe and agreeably fresh aromas of plum, red and dark raspberry, violet and a lovely array of spice elements. I very much like the texture of the middleweight flavors even though they’re not quite as dense, all wrapped in a refined, stony and highly complex finale. This is really very good and worth checking out” – Sweet spot Outstanding – 91-93 points – Burghound

GIVRY 1ER CRU ROUGE ‘A VIGNES ROUGE 2021
Bottle Shot

The largest plot the Domaine owns, 2.45 hectares. A blend of the styles of Clos Jus and Crausot ie a mix of the heavier clay soils the north and limestone in the south. A real mix of topography through the vineyard with expositions ranging from South, South East and East.

“Here too moderate wood sets off the airy, cool and pure essence of dark currant, just turned earth and a whisper of crushed fennel. There is excellent underlying tension to the solidly delineation and mineral-driven medium weight flavors that deliver fine depth and persistence on the slightly more structured finale. This highly refreshing effort is going to need some patience to realize its considerable development potential” – Sweet Spot – Outstanding – 91-93 points – Burghound

This too is firmly reduced though the underlying fruit is clearly ripe. More interesting today are the rich, concentrated and powerful medium-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the even more firmly structured and well-balanced finale. This too is going to need at least 5 to 7 years of patience and should richly reward 12 to 15. One to hunt down provided you can properly cellar it”  Sweet Spot – Outstanding – 91-94 points – Burghound
