Bottle Shot

Sourced from 2 parcels – First is a hilltop East facing parcel. 80 years old from En Jorcul, just outside St Aubin on the North West limits of the appellation on White Marls. The other part is left of the main road entering St Aubin from Puligny, again East facing of approximately 30 year old vines on the top of the hill called En Vollon, on top of redder clay based soils. 100% fermented in tank, no oak. Elevage in tank for approximately to 6 to 9 months, occasional battonage.

SAINT AUBIN 1ER CRU MURGERS DES DENTS DE CHIEN 2020
Bottle Shot

‘The teeth of the dog’ – Apart from being one of the most enjoyable wine names to say out loud this 1er Cru along with En Remilly are the two most sought after 1er Cru’s from St Aubin. It sit’s on the southern border of the appellation, above En Remilly literally overlooking to the South East the Grand Cru’s of Chevalier Montrachet and Le Montrachet itself. I’m not sure they are a ’stones throw’ away but a handy golfer could certainly land a ball in Chevalier Montrachet with a well struck drive if situated on the vineyard southerly limits. To the North East border is the 1er Cru of Champ Gain in Puligny.
Soil here is seriously calcareous. The name teeth of the dog derives from the jagged white rocks found across the vineyard resembling teeth. South to South East exposition with a range of age, the majority being post war plantings in 1946 followed by 1964, 1972, 1990 and finally 1997. Domaine Larue own an area totalling 1.12 hectares.
Pressed, settled then moved to barrel by gravity. 100% barrel fermented, of which 20% is new oak. 12 months elevage on fine lees then then the parcels blended and left in tank a further 6 months before bottling.

PULIGNY MONTRACHET 1ER CRU SOUS LE PUITS 2020
Bottle Shot

Sous Le Puits is made from 5 different parcels spanning 1.8 hectares that Domaine Larue own in this 1er Cru which borders the Meursault appellation in the North of the Puligny AOP, right at the top of the hill of Puligny-Montrachet, East facing. The site has deeper clay-limestone soil than the mid slope Cru’s + it’s is a little colder due to it’s slope position. Meaning ‘under the well’ the vines were planted from 1951 to 1982, an average age of 55 years old across the parcels.

Pressed, settled then moved to barrel by gravity. Fermented in barrel (20% new) then elevage on lees for 12 months then in tank for a further 6 months as the parcels are blended together, total of 18 months before bottling.
